Can you control a floor fan with the Lutron PD-3PCL-WH Caseta Wireless 300-watt Plug-In Lamp? Basically turning it on and off? It does have 3 speeds.

You might be able to use the PD3PCL in a switch mode, but not as a dimmer. Good way to fry the motor in the fan.

It will fry the motor even using it to turn off and on? Any other solutions that would work?
Hello Squill,
We would not recommend using the PD-3PCL for controlling a fan. Instead we would recommend the MRF2-15APS-1. This could be used with the PJ2-2B-GWH-L01 for remote switching.

Can I control the MRF2-15APS-1 using my lutron app?
Hello Squill,
Unfortunately none of our MRF2 devices have the ability to be controlled with an app. This would need to be a standalone application, however you would be able to pair a Pico RF remote to this device.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks. So basically there is not a device that will control a floor fan using on/off and also can control using the app. Right?
Hello Squill,
Unfortunately that is correct. At this time we done not offer a plug-in Caseta device rated to control a fan load.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
