    Loose ground wire on switch

    Hello
I purchased the Caseta wireless set up at my local Lowe's recently and am just getting around to installing it. I opened the packaging and discovered that the ground wire is loose where it is connected to the plate just below the black box body of the switch. It appears that the connection was not crimped adequately and I can rotate the ground wire. Can i crimp the connection a little tighter or, perhaps solder the wire to the plate? Or should I just return it to Lowe's and exchange it? Has anyone else seen loose ground wires on their units?

Since it is brand-new I would return it. I would not rely on crimping alone. If you are not comfortable with heat soldering, there are some cold solders available. They dry like glue when exposed to air.

Thanks for the quick reply. I decided to return it and Lowe's exchanged it without any issue. I could have soldered it but was concerned about possibly voiding the warranty should something happen in the future.
    Appreciate the assistance

If you would solder something like that, use a heat sink. Something as simple needle nose pliers near the solder location will absorb heat and protect the device. Glad you returned it, soldering would have voided the warranty.
