Maestro CL and Commercial Electric compatabiliity

I have the Lutron Maestro CL MSCL-OP153M sensor/dimmer switch. Connected it (single pole) to a Commercial Electric Model # 74210/HD from Home Depot. My light continuously flashes on and off and does not respond to any of the functions. Is this a compatibility issue, and if so, do you have a sensor/dimmer that with work with this light fixture? .

That fixture has a color changing feature. It is not going to be compatible with ANY dimmer. There is a non-dim sensor (MS-OPS2).

Thanks for the reply. The box and the instructions/manual all say that it is dimable.

    Hello Don Davidson,

    Thank you for your inquiry!

Unfortunately, there is currently no industry standard for the manufacturing of LEDs and the performance will vary with different dimming controls. At this time, we have not tested these bulbs, so we would not be able to guarantee a dimming solution for them. We would suggest contacting the manufacturer to see if there is a dimming solution that they can recommend.

Additionally, randyc is accurate most color changing fixtures are not dimmable or dimmed through a very specific method of dimming (step dimming with 0-10V, DMX, DALI, or even remotes or apps through the lighting manufacturer). Due to this we do not have any color changing downlights that we have found to be compatible with the MSCL-OP153M that we could recommend as a replacement option.

The best recommendation we have for this specific LED is to reach out to Commercial Electric to see what dimmers they are compatible with for this downlight. The current dimmer you have a triac based digital sensor.

    Hope this helps!
