Help with 3 way setup with mechanical and the PD-6ANS switches

I attempted a 3 way switch setup with a non-dimmable light using original mechanical switch and swapping out the other with PD-6ANS. Following the instructions here:

    http://www.casetawireless.com/3way

Unfortunately the end result was terrible: only mechanical switch worked (although the caseta switch did have the ON indicator but the buttons didn't do anything), and when the light was on, it constantly blinked.

I've reviewed the instructions countless times and one problem I think is that I've installed the caseta on the "line" side, as opposed to the "load" side. Another words, I only have 1 hot line, which according to the instructions goes to caseta's black. But the instructions asks for the load line to go to the red. But the load line is on the other switch (which goes to my light).

Yet the instructions state that this can be installed on either switch. Very confusing...what gives? If I were to install it on the other switch, I would have a load but missing the hot. Clearly the instructions are a bit ambiguous...can anyone shed some light?

    Thanks!

I have the exact same situation and issue. If I follow the instructions on page 28 of the instructions here: http://www.casetawireless.com/3way, my red wire would be connected to the hot which, which if I understand right, is in direct contradiction with the note in the instructions, "The red wire must be connected to the load and the black wire must be connected to the Line/Hot. The product will not work if the wires are reversed." I'm trying to install the PD-6ANS on the Line-side. I found these instructions with wiring diagrams for installing the PDF-6ANS on either the Load- or the Line-side: http://www.lutron.com/TechnicalDocum...369831_ENG.pdf. But still no luck. Thanks for any help.

This wiring diagram specifically shows the dimmer at the power end.

So did you ever resolve this? I’m having the same issue.
