Caseta for Remote Controlled Sump Pump

    Hi all,

I'm new to the Caseta system, and would like to use the Caseta system to control a sump pump (which is actually used for a waterfall feature in my backyard). Does anyone here have experience with such a setup?

I know that the lamp plugs are not designed for high power nor induction loads, but figured I could use one to activate a simple relay switch. I am not an electrical engineer, but could connect it all if there are any circuit designs out there (i.e. the caseta switch activates the relay to connect the power to feed to the pump).

Or, are there other Lutron (or 3rd party) solutions out there?

Any advice here would be much appreciated.

    Thanks all.

The plug-in dimmer can be set to switch mode. Keep in mind it is a 2-prog device, most pumps are going to be 3-prong.

I'd be more inclined to use the in-wall switch (PD-6NAS) to control a relay with a 120v trigger. The relay would need to be sized for the motor.
