i just installed the master and companion units, the master works fine, but the companion only turns on the lights if i hold the button, i have checked the wiring, it looks fine. i did program as if i had an existing switch rather than the companion dimmer, does this need to be reset somehow?

I HATE the wiring diagram that comes with the non-system Maestro devices. Ironically the system Maestro devices (RadioRA, HomeWorks) use a different wiring diagram. If you look at wiring diagram 2 at the link below, the power comes in on the black and out to the next device/load on the brass. The blue terminal is for communication. I use the red wire to the blue screw because it is easier to trace through the circuit.
