Exclamation MSCL-OP153MH - will not turn off (ever). Will not enter programming mode

I just installed a single-switch circuit using a Maestro MSCL-OP153MH switch. The light stays on continuously, the dimmer switch does nothing, the switch will not enter programming mode, and theFASS switch apparently has no effect. Does anyone have a suggestion?

Make sure you have power coming in on the black screw.

Power typically comes into the box on one wire and then goes to the next device and/or box. There should be a single wire going up to the lights. It's easy to get the wires crossed when swapping switches/dimmers. It really sounds like you have the wire going up to the light tied into the power. You can try putting the mechanical switch back in. If that works, you have the extremely rare bad Lutron device.

Nope. It's a compatibility issue. An issue you can't discover until you buy the switch and open it, and then find the tiny notice and URL at the very top, right corner of the newspaper of instructions.

    $35 bucks down the tubes.

    Hello A Jarrell,

    Thank you for your post.

The FASS tab is actually a mechanical air gap, it physically disconnects the line and switched leg at the dimmer, if pulling this does not turn off the lights there is either a wiring issue or dimmer issue. Please call our 24/7 technical support line at 1-844-588-7661 to help determine the root cause. When calling if you have a multi meter this would help us greatly.

We thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter and look forward to hearing from you soon!
