Just bought the Caseta wall dimmer switch setup. Excellent product so far. would like to move on to Wi-Fi HVAC controls. Does this model automatically switch from heat to AC as needed? Is this the best switch available. We have gas heat/electric ac compressor. Thanks for your help!

It does have auto mode but I prefer to change manually. It's best to have your HVAC tech look at the tstat to determine compatibility.

The Lutron tstat would keep it all in the same app. If you don't mind switching apps, ecoBee and Nest have some features you might like. They are better at learning. If you want a fixed schedule (I prefer it), the Lutron version is great.

When Lutron says it works with Caseta, what does that mean? When the Nest is set to "Away" it will automatically turn Caseta controlled lights on/off randomly between 6-11pm making it look like someone is home.
