Lutron fan control sometimes sparks when sliding fan speed lever

Installed toggler TGFSQ-FH-WH and it turns fan on and off snd speed lever works also. Occasionally when changing speed I see a green spark in the slot where the lever slides. Im assuming its not coming from the wires in the back because they are all shoved in the back of the box. Is this normal or should I be concerned?

    Not normal. I'd return it.

    Hello juhdk,

    Thank you for your post!

This is a normal operation and will not cause any damage to the control or fan.

This is an analog control, what this means is the slider on the side of the control is physically changing the capacitor, if done slow enough you can see the arc created. Think of it like when you plug something into an outlet and see a small spark, it is the same physical connection occurring.

If this is undesired you can always change to a digital control, this will not have the same physical changes occurring at the control level. The model number of one is the MA-FQ4FM.

    Hope this helps!
