Lightbulb How does it power itself?

Hi all, first post. Searched for a quick primer on how Caseta dimmers power themselves with no neutral. I struck out - my web search skills must be weakening. Help?

The digital dimmers from Lutron (Maestro style and Caseta) don't actually break the circuit. They "bleed" about 5mA through at all times. Search for flickering threads or "don't turn off" threads here and you'll see the results of that. It needs at least that much to keep the dimmer on. The "off" is just the lowest the dimmer will go without losing enough power to keep the internal circuitry powered correctly.
