Gate Position Monitoring using Keypad LED

I have a gate that I am controlling with 2 CCOs from a VCRX. The gate operates on a pulsed signal and I am trying to maintain LED status (Keypad LED stays on while gate is open or closed, respectively.) I realize I need a third party system to monitor the gate position because the keypad button LED will only light for the pulse and then go off. Has anyone run into this issue and had any luck integrating to achieve this?

You could put an alarm system door contact on the gate and connect it to a CCI on the VCRX. Then use the CCI to set the LED state.
