    Software does not load

    We received this question from a customer, and thought others might be interested in this topic...

    If my HomeWorks QS software opens, and immediately throws the error:

    [869] : There was a problem creating a DBProvider with the following parameters: StoredProcedureName:sel_AllGlobalPreference

    And does not let me create or load projects, what can I do to fix it, besides trying a new computer?

    Typically, this occurs when the Windows username of the user currently logged in contains non-English characters.

    The workaround is to change the Windows username to contain all English characters.
