I am planning to put a VCRX in my detached garage, but am concerned about cold winter weather. I live in the Chicago area, and it has gotten quite cold this year. Since my garage is detached and unheated, it has gotten pretty cold inside. I know the VCRX specs give a 32-140 degree operating temperature range.

I have been thinking about ways to keep the VCRX above freezing in my garage. I stumbled upon some small heating mats (designed to warm pet reptiles) - Any reason to be wary of putting this heating mat in some sort of enclosure with the VCRX in my garage? Have people done anything else to use the VCRX in a cold climate?

Thanks!
