35% to 100% almost same brightness

    Hi everyone,

I recently changed my bulbs to approved Phillips and they work ok, but..their range is a bit weird. I did the hold on button and down button to set the lowest value, but after doing that 100% to 35% is almost the same. Only on the last 30%< will the bulbs start dimming. Is there a way to set the highest value?

    Thanks!

LED and fluorescent lights like consistent power. Drivers/ballast compensate for variations in power which results in 3 issues.

    1. They don't like straight transformers (120v in, 12v out) because if the input varies too much you exceed the specs for the light.
    2. They don't like to be dimmed. They can be dimmed, but it requires a special (i.e. dimmable) driver/ballast. Even then you will "see" some dimming at the top and bottom but not so much in the middle. How much depends on the electronics.
    3. They don't dim linearly. 50% is not 1/2 the output.

Additionally, LEDs don't shift colors. The amount of light we perceive is different than the measured output.

You can set the high and low end trim but that is more for eliminating flickering and pop-on/off.

See page 57 of http://www.casetawireless.com/Docume...ced%20Inst.pdf for instructions on how to adjust the High-End trim on the Caseta dimmers.

I just installed some new LED sconces controlled by RRD-6NAs. They work fine but I don't "see" much difference in the light until I get to 10% or so.

Did you try adjusting the High-End and Low-End trims?
If you replace one with an incandescent bulb, does the incandescent bulb have the full dimming range in comparison?
