    Alexa to pre-set dim level

I have integrated an Alexa with RA2 system successfully. However, when issuing the verbal command to turn on a light, it appears the Alexa is sending the on command followed by a dim command to the level of the keypad from which the command was added. The light surges on heading to 100% before dimming to 30%.

Within the Lutron Connect App, under Amazon Alexa & Google Home, I am adding under Scenes (as adding lights directly always sends an on to 100%) and selecting from an already programmed (physical) keypad which turns on the desired light to the desired level.

Is there an error in the method used to add the command which would turn on the light to only to 30% emulating the behavior of a normal keypad press?

If the verbal command is given as "Alexa, turn on kitchen to 30%" the light turns on to 30%. The issue is when giving the command "Alexa, turn on kitchen" is when the light surges toward 100% before dimming to the preset 30%.

The customer isn't too pleased with the light "surging" on.

I wanted to check here before attempting to use Alexa's routines to "alias" all of the commands.

    Thanks!

It sounds like you have 2 buttons labeled "Kitchen." Alexa/Google is finding them both, apparently the 100% first.

You nailed it! This was the first light added which was still defined within the Alexa app itself thus the command was seeing the new "scene" defined within the Connect App and the original light definition which wasn't defined in the Connect App but was within the Alexa App. Deleted the duplicate and all is working perfect! Thank you!

    Another happy customer.
