Of course, like an idiot, I did not write down what the connections were, and so I am trying to reinstall the dimmer for my hall bath lights. Coming from the wall are three pieces of romex. One with 1 black and 1 white (neither are hot). The other two have 1 black 1 white and 1 red. One of the black wires test hot. Can I test to see which one goes goes to the light? There are outlets down stream, so one of them goes to those outlets. To get power to our TV while I figure out this problem I tied the 3 blacks together, the 3 whites together and the 2 reds together. The down stream outlets work, but the bathroom lights do not go on. Can someone help me please? See the attached picture to see the mess I have. Thanks
