    Rrd-6brl & rrd-6na

So if I have a light bank being controlled by a RRD-6NA, and I want a RRD-6BRL to be the secondary location I just cap off one of the traveler I would have used if I actually had a RD-RD there and change it to a single pole installation?

No. In a typical 3-way you have power coming in on one end and going up to the light (switch leg) at the other. Depending on the placement of your devices and the location you may need to use one of the travelers to send power to the other end and/or use the other traveler to send the switch leg to the other end. If you only need to use one traveler, cap off the other.
