Question Problem installing 3- way skylark CL dimmer

After replacing a 3-way switch with a CL Skylark dimmer and turning back on power it made a pop sound when I turned on the dimmer switch, now it does not work. What is the solution?

It is dead. You can try to take it back but many distributors won't take electrical parts back after they have been installed.

Do you know why it popped......I don’t want to repeat the same problem?

Most likely a short. It could be a nick in a wire that is only visible when the wire is bent. The ground wire may have shifted when you pushed the dimmer in the box. It is like wac-a-mole.
