Question In-Wall Switch: Red Wire always power?

    Hello,

I have multiple switches to install and connected the wires as depicted in the image:

While testing with a simple "Volt Detector", the hot wire from the breaker box is with power. However, on the "red" wire, connected to the "load" wire for the outlet I'm detecting power with the "Volt Detector" as well in the "off" position. I've tried another switch with the same result.
    What am I missing here?

Is this an issue with the "Volt Detector", or the switch or the way I wired it?

    Regards, V.

There is some "leakage" through the switch. This is how it powers the internal electronics. The FASS switch (pull out at the bottom) completely cuts off the power for maintenance.
