Thread: Version 10.7 software still has upload issues

    Thumbs up Version 10.7 software still has upload issues

    I upload once and have no errors. I add 2 dimmers and upload - 8 errors.
    I click retry and 11 errors, some new some old.
    I click retry and 4 different errors.
    I click retry and 28 errors.
    I click retry and 17 errors.

    Not to mention each retry takes a minimum of 30 minutes.

    Let me guess.... "it's a network issue?"

    When you say network issue are you referring to the often intended "computer networking"? Or did you mean the Clear Connect RF network, or the QS Link network, or perhaps some other network?

    I have used 10.7 since its release with no issues. However I never hit the retry failed devices button I always do a new transfer. Im sure people would love to help but more info needed on the issue.

    Uploads have been problematic since the day Lutron introduced uploads via Ethernet. Their go to excuse is, "it's the network." Not Clear Connect, not the QS Link, and not some other network.

    I've only been doing Lutron for 18 years so forgive me but I am tired of it. I also do Crestron, Vantage and Control 4 lighting and upload errors are the exception not the rule. Ethernet has been around for 40 years. It shouldn't be that hard.

    This system has 366 devices in it. Doing a new transfer for 6 or 8 errors is not an acceptable option.

    So when you say it still has issues, I am led to think you have been getting numerous errors during transfers for various prior software versions. Are the errors occurring with devices only on a specific processor link? Has it remained consistent across different software revs?

    Ive also been doing Lutron except a lot more then 18 years I also do Crestron and Control4. I guess there excuse is no different then Crestron saying use Package switch it will work better.

    The errors seem to be mostly, but not exclusively, RF devices. This particular job has 12 repeaters in it and is laid out by floor so there are 3 repeaters for ~3-4000 sqft.

    It's also frustrating that when I click "retry" errors pop up that weren't there before. Why is it retrying devices that didn't have errors before?

    It has been a while but I don't remember these issues with RS232 uploads. It started when they added Ethernet upload capability.
