    Mini-PC used for remote login.

    Hello,

Has anyone used a mini-pc that fits inside the panel used for remote login? If so, which PC did you use?

    Thank you,

    Brandon

    Brandon,
While I haven't personally done anything like this, I would think any standard nettop box would work fine. Ideally you want something with no moving parts (less chance to fail) so fanless and an SSD which is pretty standard these days.

If the job has an AV rack there are also some nice rack mount options.

A low-end Intel NUC would be a good starting place. There's at least one new model that supports putting a regular 2.5" SSD in the same case. One suggestion, avoid the temptation to make it do too much. Keep it simple, don't try to jam everything on it it. Sure, it might be a full PC "going to waste". But it won't help anything if the few times you need it to find it crashed or otherwise 'messed up' with a ton of other software on it.
