RA2 Range - Main Repeater Inside Metal AV Rack

I would like to put a main repeating inside an AV rack (all metal sides with wire "mesh" grid for ventilation at the top) . I know it's going reduce my Clear Connect wireless range. Does anyone have any experience on what to expect?

NO. I have had bad experience with that. Keep it out of the rack.

Can you put it on top of the rack? I have also fastened it to the side with the antenna above the rack.
