    Hello,

Are you referring to the Caséta Plug-in Lamp Dimmer (model# PD-3PCL)? If so, this device is only rated for control of 120VAC lights. We do not recommend using this with low-voltage transformers, or drivers, as doing so could damage the dimmer, transformer, and/or LED lights.

The Caséta ELV Dimmer (model # PD-5NE) is rated for use with either magnetic low-voltage or electronic low-voltage transformers or drivers so long as the dimmer is programmed to the correct phase for the transformer or driver (e.g. forward phase for magnetic low-voltage or reverse phase for electronic low-voltage).

    Hi Jonathan

Yes you are correct on the lamp dimmer.

That’s too bad, was hoping to be able to do “remodeling” and electrical work. Was really hoping to just be able to plug into A existing outlet

Your specs say it is rated for 100w of LED or CFL. How are you controlling those without drivers or ballast?

    07carbon3,

There is a company called FlexFire LED in California that specializes in LED's. They have a Dimmable LED driver that is compatible / works with Caséta. Make sure you get the Zurik EMLV Electronic Dimmable Driver series. They come in either 12 or 24 volt output.

I'm currently using these with the PD-6WCL-BL (Wall Dimmer), PD-3PCL-WH (Lamp Dimmer, DVRF-6L-WH (Diva Wall Dimmer), PD-5NE-BL (ELV Wall Dimmer).
According to the Lutron literature that I've read all of these dimmers will handle LED loads, under the following precautions :

    1. Not overloaded
    2. Mixing Load Types has caused issues for me (Incand - Halogen / LED)
    3. Setting the Correct Phase on the ELV Dimmer (Reverse / Forward)
