    Dvstv wiring

Hi Forum. I am trying to connect to a Lutron DVSTV 3 way to an Osram Optotronic OT40W/PRG1400C/UNV/DIM-1/J but I'm having a hard time. One diagram shows 4 wires, my driver/ballast only has three wires, brown purple and gray, and one electrician said he used 18/2 wire. Obviously the purple driver goes to the purple dimmer, gray to gray but where do I find the switched hot and neutral wires to the dimmer? My driver only has a third wire labeled PRG/NTC which is brown. I don't want to add a line level 120V wire and burn my entire system out by accident. Does the dimmer switch receive power only from the ballast driver or is there a line level as well? Tia.

Upon further review, it looks like a DVTV dimmer is needed but
    I didn't think I needed a 24v powerpack???

    Hello Doc777,

The DVSTV should work in this application. According to the specification sheet of that driver, there should also be a Black, White, and Green wire on the input side of the driver. The black would be the switched hot coming in from the DVSTV, the white would be neutral, and the green would be ground.

Please see page 3 of the following specification sheet.

If I am reading correctly, the brown wire is for programming the driver to a specific output.
