Caseta in wall dimmer. Major flickering on and off.

Ok. Please be patient with me. I'm a noob.

Anyways. Bought 12 in wall dimmers with hub and some poco remotes.

I was 100% sucessull in setting up 11 in wall dimmers. Even figured out how to use the pico remotes in conjunction with a dimmer switch to replace a few 3 way lights in my home.

However. There is one light that when i install a in wall dimmer switch. It flickers and turns on and off. And even flickers when the switch is turned off. And when it's on it buzzes like crazy.

I tried 3 different bulbs and 2 switches. The wiring is a very basic 2 wire setup like the majority of the other switches I setup in the house.

Could the light fixture be the problem? Works 100% with my normal mechanical 2 wire switch (no ground).

    Please help!

It sounds like that final fixture has bulbs in it that aren't compatible with the dimmer. What kind of bulbs are you using? Are they incandescent, halogen, low voltage, fluorescent, or LED?

I actually tried 3 different bulbs. Then went back to check them. All 3 are non-dimmable bulbs.

Swapped in a philips dimmable LED and it works perfectly now. :)

    Thank you.

Is there anyway to get a lutron caseta switch to activate my fireplace? They are low voltage correct?

I would never install a digital switch to activate a fireplace. I really wouldn't recommend doing that.

I hear some people trying to connect the low voltage fireplace switch to a smart switch, but I don't think this is a good idea. I believe fireplace is part of the safety guard in case of power outage. If you are connecting it to a normal switch, fireplace will still work even without power at home.

One solution is to use a low cost Lutron part with the LED lights. It is less than $10 and available by Amazon Prime at: https://amzn.to/3hc4bEZ

    casesta in wall dimmer

It seems like that last apparatus has bulbs in it that aren't perfect with the dimmer. What sort of bulbs would you say you are utilizing? Is it accurate to say that they are glowing, halogen, low voltage, fluorescent, or LED?
