Question How to test Caséta Bridge coverage without internet

Before I can offer Caséta to a client, I need to know whether the Bridge can cover a certain area, even if the radius is equal or less than 30 ft. I would normally bring a Bridge + a Plug-In dimmer with me to the site and test them. However, how can I perform the same test if there is still no internet service on-site? Thank you.

Bring WiFi router with you. Latest Caseta app versions do not require internet, only WiFi.

The bridge does require internet access for the initial setup to link the bridge with an email address. If you already have the bridge set up from back in the shop, then you won't need an internet connection to the bridge, as long as the bridge is running the latest firmware, and the app is v3.3+.

How can you check the bridge firmware version?

    A few other related questions:
    - Do you publish release notes with each firmware? If so, where can these be viewed?
    - How do we know if/when a firmware update has occurred?
    - Is there any way to manually trigger an update or is it a completely automatic process?

There is free app called "Discovery - Bonjour Browser" that you can use to view the bridges current firmware version. Within the app, navigate to: local>_lutron._tcp.>Lutron Status>CODEVER

We are currently on version 03.01 and we do not publish release notes. Changes noticeable to the user will come through app updates that follow the firmware updates. Feel free to use Bonjour Browser to see if your bridges firmware updates, but it will just update automatically if needed. The bridge checks for firmware updates nightly and you can also force a check by power cycling the bridge.
