Difference between dimmers and remote dimmers

Maybe it is a dumb question, but can anyone explain the difference between the rrd dimmers and the rd-rd remote dimmers? Can I use in a radiora2 system only rd-rd remote dimmers?

RD-RD devices are not dimmers. They're remote controls for real dimmers (RRD-6CL, etc), used when you want to have multiple locations controlling the same load. They're used for retrofit applications where you now have a 3-way or 4-way conventional switch setup. They require a wire between the RD-RD and the RRD-, typically the traveler wire from the 3-way circuit.
