Wiring Advice

Hey guys,

Just moved in to a new build. I'm going to put a dimmer where one of the old rocker switches is. When I took the switch apart I noticed that the black wire at the bottom of the switch runs continuously to the next two switches. What should I do?

That's providing power to the other two switches. Keep that wiring in place.

Thanks! So I should be able to cut the wire and use a wire nut on the three wires that I have created. That should keep power flowing to the other two

It depends on what dimmer you are trying to install on it. Do you know the model number of the dimmer you are looking to connect in this location?

That is correct. Cut that wire in half and connect both halves to one black wire of the dimmer.
