Fan switch - caseta
Can you use a dimmer switch to control a ceiling fan? I keep hearing different answers. I am assuming the you shouldn't and should use a on/off switch like a pd-5ws. ???

Squill.
The only way to control a ceilling fan with caséta system is through an ON/OFF switch PD-5WS.

Or the PD-6ANS On/Off switch.

Any instructions, documentation, etc in wiring the PD -6ANS or PD-5WS up for fan??

You would use the same installation instructions that you would use for wiring to a light.
PD-5WS-DV instructions: http://www.lutron.com/TechnicalDocum...ry/0301740.pdf .
PD-6ANS Instructions: http://www.lutron.com/TechnicalDocum...301799_WEB.pdf .
Advanced wiring & programming instructions: http://www.casetawireless.com/Docume...ced%20Inst.pdf .

@All, I want to do the same thing, however today I have one switch for light on/off wired to the fan and a Lutron rotary knob for fan speed separate. Any way I can combine the 2 and or use with Caseta Wireless with the switches mentioned in this thread ? Thanks

If you have separate switches for you fan and your lights, you can substitute one of the Caseta switches above, but you will only get on/off functionality.

I can use Caseta and aet it to various speed using dimmer button or Siri. However thaerw is steang humming sound from the fan motor. Dont knownthw brand but it does not have lights in it.
