Firmware update for buggy trim setting in 2017-era PD-5NE dimmers?

I have 5 PD-5NE dimmers that I purchased in 2017 that have the buggy firmware as described here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-r...SIN=B01MDKJ6FO (screenshot attached here).

The firmware issues cause difficulties in setting the trim and phase. The information above describes how to partially work around the issues.

I got 4 more PD-5NE dimmers in 2021 and have no trouble with them. The firmware problem was fixed.

Can we ever expect to have a firmware update for the dimmers with the faulty firmware? If not, is there a way I can exchange these for a corrected version?

    Thank you.

Hello agoode, thank you for your inquiry, and we are sorry to hear about the issue you are encountering. We can not firmware upgrade those units, as this was prior to individual devices being able to receive firmware upgrades. However, we would be curious to see the behavior being exhibited and see how we can help. We would recommend reaching out to our dedicated support team at casetasupport@lutron.com so that we can further assist with this! We appreciate your cooperation!

Thank you for your reply! I understand that the old dimmers will not be firmware upgradable.

Here are the issues with the 2017 dimmers:

    1. If the FASS is not pulled after setting low-end trim, then the high-end trim will get corrupted. This results in lowering the high-end significantly. Likewise, the low-end trim will get corrupted when setting the high-end trim. Pulling the FASS after setting the trim avoids this problem.
    2. After setting trim, the phase is reset to forward. I have to reset the phase back to reverse after setting trim.

The dimmers I got in 2021 do not have either of these problems. Fortunately, the 2017 problems can be worked around with the FASS trick as mentioned in the attached screenshot, so aside from the initial confusion and slight extra work, things are fine.
