Flood light

Hello, I’ve installed Lutron dimmers all over my house and they have worked great except for my flood light. I’ve confirmed the flood light works with a normal switch but when I hook up the light to the Lutron switch it won’t turn on, the switch has leds and shows it’s powered but the light won’t come on

Many flood lights are non-dim. The dimmer may not be able to turn the light on.

If the fixture has a photocell and/or a motion sensor it won't work with the dimmer. The photocell/motion sensor is between the dimmer and the load so, at best, the dimmer can only enable the sensor. Photocells and motion sensors don't like to be dimmed either.

I just moved in how do I know if it has photocell things? I know it’s not motion activated

Hello cdrdr, welcome to the Forums. We're sorry to hear about the issue you've encountered with your dimmer. What model dimmer are you using in this application? And can you get a make and model number of the floodlight fixture or bulbs in the fixture? Like randyc said, there is a chance that it is non-dimmable and the dimmer is not allowing it to turn on.
