Considering using Caseta SmartHub with fiber optic instead of standard ISP

I am considering switching to a fiber optic internet provider. They say they don't use a modem, just a router. Currently I have an Xfinity modem/router and my devices are/can be connected by ethernet cables via a Netgear S308 unmanaged switch that is, in turn, connected to the modem/router. Assuming the fiber optic router has ethernet out, is there any issue connecting the SmatHub at one of the ethernet connections (so it is more central), rather than directly to the router or switch? thanks!

No issue at all. I normally connect to the router or one of the downstream switches. As long as the hub can see the router and get access to the internet, you are golden.

I ordered/installed and all seems to work fine. I tried to put another spitter at the end so I could connect the hub and my laptop but it didn't seem to like that, so I took the splitter off.
