My MA-R companion dimmer only togglesights on or off when tap is pressed. When released, lights go back to state of MACL-153 dimmer. The companion effectively does nothing. I've confirmed wiring is correct. Is the companion switch just defective?

In this application, the companion dimmer is not defective. Instead, the MACL-153M dimmer is not set to companion mode. Please follow these steps to change this setting:
That worked. The instruction videos only mentions the IL 1 light even when the companion switch is in same package as the control. Thanks.
