new 3 scene remote recognized as 2 group remote
Hi:
After weeks of waiting for delivery, today I received a new 3-scene remote for testing with a pro bridge and the 4 models of caseta dimmers.
When I pair it with a dimmer it acts as if it is a 2 group remote. The lutron app seems to think it is a 2 group remote.
The silk screen on the front shows the four light bulbs of a 3 scene remote. The blister card indicates it to be a 3 scene remote of model # PJ2-4B-WH-L31P.
Could I be doing something wrong? Or does it look like it was programmed with the wrong id at the factory?
Thanks,
-Terry Thrift-

Did you try deleting the remote from the app and adding it again? Does it do the same thing?
If the remote is still reporting as a 2-group remote in the app, then it sounds like the microchip in it was programmed incorrectly.
Please call our 24-hour Technical Support hotline at 1-800-523-9466 for a replacement.

Deleting and re-adding did not clear it up.
Neither did resetting the dimmer, trying a different dimmer, power cycling the hub, or adding the remote directly with the lutron app.
I'll call the support line.
Thx, -Terry-

Lutron support was great.
They are sending a replacement L31.
The tech also mentioned that the Pico Scene Keyboards now support Caseta.
Individual buttons can be paired with different lights/zones!
This is great news for me.
It might eliminate my need to integrate my pro hub with another controller.

@tthrift ,
so is lutron saying each button on a scene remote can control a diff set of dimmers/switches? Until now the whole pico has to be paired to a set of switches and each button could ONLY control the whole set of switches.
I looked in my existing pico config did not see such an option where each button could control diff switches .
@Lutron support, can u shed some light on this new feature ?

@Blurum
AFAIK.
Each button can be individually paired to a different set of lights/zones.
But "only" when using one of the scene "keypads" shown in the link.
4-button models: P01, P02 and P03
2-button models: P01 and P02
Each of the 5 models has a different set of text labels on its' buttons.
example: PJ2-4B-GWH-P03 a white four button keypad for "Any Room" has buttons labeled ("Bright","Entertain","Relax", "Off" ).
I am certainly hopeful/excited and initiated an order through a local distributor for a few to test.
