Devices not working after update to 12.10

Occupancy sensors not working, cannot control devices via app, etc after update
Everything shows as being online
How to troubleshoot?

On the actual occupancy sensor itself, the lights it is programmed to control should turn on/off when you press the button with the lightbulb icon; do they respond when this action is performed? If yes, use the sensor to turn the lights on and then put it in a location where it cannot detect motion (i.e. drawer, cabinet, etc.) and wait for it to reach the timeout and the lights should turn off and then it should once again function as normal. if no, it may have lost its programming and would need to be either defaulted and re-activated and/or reprogrammed.

I updated to 12.10 4 days ago and created the original post then
Nothing worked until yesterday when everything returned to normal
All of the devices work and all of the programming is back
