Nightlight flickers on DIVA dimmers
I have about two dozen Lutron DIVA dimmers, most being single pole but also a few three-way. These range in age from 10 to four years in age. Several have begun flickering on the nightlight LED contained behind the bezel. This flicker only occurs within the DIVA dimmer itself in the off state -- there is no change in function with the mechanics of the switch or the lighting units on the load line. As I bought and installed these dimmers in batches, from different vendors over many years, it doesn't appear that any particular batch of dimmers is more susceptible to the flicker than others. The flickering begins after several years and it appears randomly over some of the oldest and newest units.
Is this just something inherent to the DIVA dimmers with the nightlight feature? Or is there a fix that can be applied to get the nightlight to return to a solid state?

I would say that you would need to replace the entire dimmer, unless you can source the lamp for the night light and re-solder into place.

Good morning roknrol,
The night light that is used in our Diva dimming controls is a neon bulb. Over time trace amount of neon can escape this bulb, which in turn can lead to the flickering behavior you are noticing. There is no way to eliminate the flickering of older neon night lights.
Please let me know if you have any questions

Is it safe to continue using the switch with the flicker?
