Hello Dominic and welcome to the forums!
Yes, you can absolutely install the PD-6WCL in this configuration. Please try the wiring steps below:
- White from your wall to one of the two blacks on the dimmer (the black wires are interchangeable)
- Black from your wall to the remaining black on the dimmer
- Ground wire to green on the dimmer
Please ensure your lights are dimmable! If you need help finding a dimmable LED bulb, please refer to our "LED Finder" tool here: LED Compatibility Tool | Lutron
Hi Team,
I have recently purchased PD-6WCL lutron dimmer.
I am using philips dimmable led lamp.
I hope i have done my wiring correct way. I have connected neutral directly to LED Bulb and Line goes to dimmer and second wire of dimmer goes to LED bulb.
Once I given 120V Input, my Load is turned ON.
I am trying to turn off and dimming by switch it is not working.
Can i use PD-6WCL dimmer standalone without mobile App.
Also, I am not seeing any indication LEd ON my device.
I am first time using this device, please help.
Hello mdashraf88, welcome to the Forums! We are sorry to hear about the issue you have encountered with your LED dimmer. You may certainly use the PD-6WCL standalone without the hub/mobile app; it will function as a standalone dimmer, and can even pair to Pico remotes standalone.
In regards to the issue you are encountering, your wiring does sound correct; line to the one dimmer wire, load/switched leg wire on the other dimmer wire, neutral returning power back to the panel. What is the model number of the Phillips LED bulb in question? Do you have an incandescent bulb handy to test with, installing it in place of the LED to see if this gets the unit working and its indicator lights illuminated?
