Fireplace control?
Is there a way to control a fireplace with a caseta switch? My fireplace is a low voltage DC from a thermocouple. So the DC circuit just needs to be closed to turn it on. I have AC power right next to it. Reading the Lutron Radio2 threads, people are using a relay for that system. However, I don't think there are AC control relays that control a DC output.
Anyone been able to tackle this yet?

I was thinking about doing this with my fireplace. I had assumed that the Caseta switch would work for this given the low draw of the fireplace, but I never checked the specs to verify. Let me know what you end up doing.

Asherrick, i think you may have an AC fireplace valve. Just going off your description.
My fireplace is DC. Since the Lutron light switches, switch AC the the normal switches won't work.

For that fireplace, you might be able to use a pro switch- the PD-6ANS-xx running a small contactor or relay for your circuit closure. We've done it in RA2. We would need a Lutronite to chime in if the new pro switch can handle a contactor with no other load on the switch.
