Trying To Connecting To QS Processor
Hi Guys
I wonder if someone can shed some light on this.
Ive installed a job where im running two processors, one is on a fixed IP due to liasing with a Crestron processor and the other is Dynamic.
When ever i have to connect to the fixed ip'd processor the QS software 'sees' the processor but i cannot connect no matter how many times i try.
But...when i go to the processor, pull the power and links, wait, then reconnect the power and links, i can then communicate with the processor.
While im on site i may have to do this a couple of times.
This happens every time im on site.

when you are on-site, try:
plugging your computer LAN into a spare LAN port on the Lutron Processor
selecting "use remote access" in the Activate> Processors tab
I'll bet that works.
What rev of QS are you using?
Are you on wifi?
Why isn't the 2nd processor using a static IP?
Are your firewalls turned off when you are trying to communicate?

Im using 9.3 and connect via WiFi on Rukus AP's
I've turned my firewall OFF and i think i have tried the 'use remote access' idea but when im back on site i'll give it another go.
As for the 2nd processor being on Dynamic, its just the case of not getting round to putting it on a static IP but im not sure this would be the problem, would it?
Normally just as im about to throw the laptop across the room i connect my Wireless AP that i use on jobs where there isnt a network to the second Lan port on the processor and viola! as soon as i do this i get connection first time everytime! and its stable so go figure.
I think it may be something to do with the Rukus?

Its probably the Remote Access setting. I have a site with 3 processors for 3 buildings and they are DHCP reserved IP addresses. No issues. I had another site where recently I couldn't connect to the processor which also had reserved IP. Once I checked that Remote Access box it was good to go.

Many Thanks
Will look at this when I'm next on site

My guess is multicast is blocked on Ruckus wifi. Does your computer have a LAN jack? that's the first thing I do when having com issues- skip the wifi.
