    PD-FSQN Fan Humming

Verified fan is set to highest setting. Noticing a loud hum when the fan starts. And then a continous lower hum when the fan is running.

Fan Model: Hunter Antero with LED Light 54 inch (Item 59585)

    Hello,

By chance is the lighting load also wired in to the PD-FSQN, or only the fan motor and the lighting has a separate control?

Is there a wireless receiver installed in the fan at all? If so, that will need to be removed in order for the PD-FSQN to function properly (or vise versa, depending on whether you would prefer the Caseta fan control or the Hunter-proprietary remote control)

Seperate lighting load (two switches for fan and light)

It's a pull chain (4 settings including off). I'm positive it's on the highest speed setting.

Were the PD-FSQN and the Hunter Antero fan installed at the same time? Have you tested bypassing the PD-FSQN to ensure the fan is not humming when connected directly to line power? If not, we would recommend testing this out; for this test, the only control of the fan speed will be the pull chains.
For further assistance with troubleshooting this issue, we would recommend sending an email to us at support@lutron.com or calling in to our 24/7 Tech Support line at 1-888-588-7661. If we find this a defect with the PD-FSQN, we may look into a warranty replacement for you as well.

As for wireless receivers, certain fans may be equipped with them for remote control capabilities. If you wish to use the PD-FSQN, it may be necessary to remove the wireless receiver, depending on your preference for either the Caseta fan control or the Hunter-proprietary remote control. It is important to ensure that the PD-FSQN and the fan control system are compatible and properly integrated for smooth and efficient operation.

However, it would be prudent to conduct a test to determine whether bypassing the PD-FSQN eliminates any humming noise when the fan is directly connected to the line power.
