What is the difference between an integration and simply controlling via Telnet?

I maintain a module for an automation tool called Node-RED. It allows people to easily make connections between other systems to work with a Smart Bridge Pro. Everything works fine but nothing in the Lutron iPhone app reflects the fact that it gets controlled from an external source. In the integrations section of the app, it says that I have an active integration with HomeKit which I do. What makes an external controller or platform show up in the app like that? Are integrations more of a partner effort between Lutron and another company? Are there differences in how an officially integrated platform interacts with a Smart Bridge?

Thanks for any info. I'm basically just curious.

    Hello,
The listed integrations are, as you mentioned, a partner effort and are able to be set up with both the base model Smart Bridge and the Smart Bridge Pro. The Pro is just also enabled for Telnet integrations, which would not be listed on the integrations list in the app as there is no account to log in to for Telnet. The commands are the same routed through the Hub to the devices whether the commands come from the Lutron app, a third party integration from the list in the app, or a Telnet integration not listed.

    Thanks for the explanation!
