Dimmer in the 4way switch position

I want to dim my foyer light which is on a 4 way circuit. The position I want to control the dimming is currently a middle 4way switch. I know how to dim one of the 3 ways but what are my options for dimming in the middle 4way switch position?

You need an electronic dimmer like Maestro, Caseta, etc. They still want to be in the 3-way position but should work in the 4-way position.

How would I wire it in the 4 way position? What wires go where?

What device are you needing help with? Can you provide the model number of the control you are referencing or a link?

That kind of is my question. What device can I use so that I can dim from the 4way position. Even if it means changing switches in the other positions

Hello SRudy. You can use the MACL-153M or the STCL-153M. You will need the respective companion dimmers or switches for this setup. This will allow you to have a dimmer in the 4-way switch location.

That worked. Mostly——. The new three way and companion work perfect but there is an old existing four way and three way (light switched from four locations) and the old switches turn the light off correctly but when I turn on from the old switches I get about a 5 second delay before it turns on. I hate to replace those switches but if that is what I need to do I will. What is this happening and how do I fix it?
