    Skylark 4-Way

I moved into a house and our living room dimmer seems to have died. It's now a glorified on/off switch. Well, the lights get all funky when you slide up and down as well.

Anyways, it is a 4-way switch - one dimmer and two on/off switchs controlling the same lights. Did Lutron ever make a skylark 4-way? If so, how would the wires match up from the back of a skylark to the back of a Diva? They're different styles.

No. Lutron does not make a 4-way in any of the mechanical dimmer lines. The device you have may not be compatible with LEDs. Also, the dimmer as to be at the end position (not in the middle).

@randyc. So the diva would not be considered mechanical then? The box says 1 2 or more locations.

But good to know. Maybe it’s just an LED thing. I’ll try that. The lights have been working for the first two and half years we’ve lived there

The older Diva are mechanical dimmers. The newer ones are electronic and require companion dimmers at the 2nd and 3rd locations.

@randyc can you use one diva dimmer and two “oem” mechanical on/off switches?

The circuit starts and ends with a 3-way switch and has 4-way switches in the middle. The Diva has to be in one of the 3-way locations. You can leave the remaining 3-way/4-way switches in place.

Hmmm...I'll try subbing out the busted skylark for the diva I bought at home diva and hope for the best.

Of course, I may need to play with the wiring options a bit as the backs of the switches are different.

    Thank you for your help.
