Seeking Motion-Activated Switch, but with Timer Option

Apologies... Not certain of the exact terminology, but we are seeking a motion-activated in-wall switch (3-way) that will turn on our garage lights when motion is detected, BUT ONLY within certain hours. Specifically, we prefer that the motion-activated feature be only activated between the hours of 7:00pm and 6:00am, but be disabled otherwise. Stated otherwise, we do not wish for the garage lights to come on whenever we enter the garage during daytime hours... only during the nighttime hours when we would not normally be entering the garage. Can someone suggest a part number that might suffice? Thank you.

    Hi LitMan,

Thank you for your post. For the feature request of the motion sensor only operating between the hours of 7pm-6am, this would be possible with a Caseta Wireless system using the PD-OSENS occupancy sensor and programming the operational time within the Lutron App (Smart Bridge required). If you would prefer to not use a home automation setup, Lutron does offer the MS-OPS5M occupancy sensor with daylight sensing capability. This feature will detect the natural light level in the room and only turn the load on when the sensor registers below a certain light level reading. The MS-OPS5M can be install in a 3-way lighting circuit, but only one sensor may be used on a 3-way. The second location would either be a companion switch (MA-AS) or standard 3-way mechanical switch. We recommend reviewing the install guide here for additional information: https://www.lutron.com/TechnicalDocu...ry/0302800.pdf

I'm assuming because you are on the Homeworks section you are referring to Homeworks programming. If so, yes you can do this. You would need to use whatever flavor outside motion light detector. It would have to be a low voltage device or if you use high voltage, you'll need to install a relay to convert it to 12/24v. Then you'll need an IO module. After all of that, programming is fairly straight forward. I don't have a part for an exterior rated "security" motion. You will also need Lutron's IO module.

Otherwise, if you have QSX, you could use a 120v Ring Flood cam. I believe you can set the hours of motion and have that trigger the lights to come on based on the Ring's motion.
