Thread: Can a switch control a scene?

Can a switch control a scene?

i have a small caseta setup (4 switches, 2 remotes) and am looking to expand it. as of now i don't have it integrated with any other systems (homekit, etc).

I want to replace 3 light switches (for my outdoor lights) with caseta switches and program them that if i toggle any of those switches on or off, the other switches in the group do the same thing.

i know how to program a scene of all 3 to go on or off and control them with 1 remote, but i want to avoid getting a remote and instead sync all 3 to turn on or off in tandem.

is this possible? if so, how?

The physical Caseta switch can't control any other Caseta switches. You can create a scene in the Lutron app to turn them all on, but you can only trigger that scene from within the app or the iPhone widget.

You can setup an automation within Apple HomeKit to turn on certain lights when a different one is turned on. You have to create a separate automation to turn them off when a particular light is turned off.

Our preference is for our outside lights to be on all night, so I setup automation in HomeKit to turn them on at sunset and off at sunrise.
