    Smart Switch Location in 3-Way

Greetings. If I understand Lutron schematics correctly, in a 3-way circuit involving a Claro and a mechanical 3-way switch, the Claro must be located where the line enters the circuit. If I use a Caseta Accessory Switch instead of the mechanical switch, can the Accessory Switch be placed where the line enters the circuit, instead of the Claro? Will the dimmer still work in that configuration?

    thanks in advance.

    Hello usnavy1610,

Our new Claro switch and Diva Smart dimmer can be wired in line or load side when utilizing a mechanical switch or DVRF-AS Accessory switch in a 3-way (line or load side does not matter)! Please refer to the spec sheet here: Caséta Load Controls SPEC (369987) (windows.net)

    DVRF-6L in 3-way w/ mechanical switch - page 22
