    MS-OPS5 3-way issue

    Hi folks,

I have a stair situation where I had a 3 way light switch. I replaced one side with MS-OPS-5 switch and made the modifications on the non sensor side with using only 1 traveler lead.
Things seem to work fine when non sensor side is on. However if you turn off the light from the mechanical side the sensor loses power. I tried reversing the traveler wires but to no avail.
Any idea what Im doing wrong?

We are sorry to hear of the issue occurring with your MS-OPS5M in this three way application. We would again confirm the wiring both at the sensor's location and the wallbox where the mechanical switch is. This wiring change is covered on page 2 under step 2B and step 3 on the install guide @ https://www.lutron.com/TechnicalDocu...ry/0302800.pdf. Also with some on/off rocker style switches while it may not be clarified on it's spec sheet, they can have internal digital components which can cause issues like what you are seeing. We'd recommend to bypass the mechanical switch to make sure in a single pole the MS-OPS5M works. If you have any other questions our tech support is available anytime, 24/7 at (1-888-588-7661) and support@lutron.com.

I don't like the wiring diagram that comes with the OPS5. The one in the specification seems clearer to me. See link below.
