occupancy sensor as an accessory switch?

Is it possible for an occupancy sensor (MS-OPS5M) to act as an accessory (or companion) to an electronic switch (like MA-S8AM)? I have a room with an MA-S8AM switching the light with a MSC AS SW accessory switch. The two switches act as a 3-way switch; either one toggles the status from off to on or from on to off. Could an occupancy sensor be added to these as another accessory switch? Of course, there are some issues. We don't want motion to toggle the status from on to off! We only want motion to toggle from off to on. It's OK if occupancy timeout toggles the system from on to off. If this does not work, does anyone know how to obtain this functionality? Thanks, Tom

Hey Tom! Our master devices including the MS-OPS5M and the MA-S8AM look to be the only master device in the circuit. While not a safety issue both devices would fight for control over the load, causing strange functionality issues. We would recommend for what you are looking to do to remove the MA-S8AM and use the MS-OPS5M with the companion MSC-AS accessory swich. That way you still have on/off functionality as well as the sensor functionality you are looking for. We hope this helps! If you have any other questions our tech support is available 24/7 via support@lutron.com or (1-888-588-7661).
