The devices that will be compatible with this system will be new devices that are going to be released when this system becomes available. The devices that are compatible with this system will not be compatible with either the RadioRA2 or HomeWorks QS systems.

Of course, never miss an opportunity for new firmware/part numbers. So none of the AMX CCD- part numbers will be compatible? Existing shades not compatible? Existing Picos not compatible?

What types of products will be included:

    Dimmers
    Switches
    Keypads
    Lamp Modules
    Appliance Modules
    Tabletop
    I/O
    HVAC
    Ceiling Fan
    Occupancy

Lutron products that will be available with the Staples Connect system include an in-wall dimmer, plug-in lamp dimmer, Pico remote controls and Serena shades. The in-wall and plug-in lamp dimmers will be new Lutron products. If you would like to view the new dimmers, they are featured in an article on the CEPro website here. Additional information will be provided when the dimmers are released. Pico remote controls and Serena shades are available from Lutron today

Oh that's interesting: the dimmers have a pico style faceplate. No relay/appliance modules? So the Serena shades can be integrated with the system. Do they have status (position) feedback, or is it 1-way control only? Thanks for the information.

Lutron’s Serena shades are available with the Staples Connect system – and shade position is shown in the Staples Connect app.

At this time, a Lutron appliance module is not part of the Staples Connect program

Very interesting. At $99 for the hub, it would be worth it to buy and use solely as a bridge to Serena so they could be integrated into other systems. Especially with the frequent 20% off coupons when buying from the Serena website.

While we can confirm that Serena shades are compatible with the Staples Connect hub and app, we can’t confirm that the Staples Connect hub may be used to integrate with anything other than the Staples Connect app and devices shown on the Staples website. We suggest discussing your intended application with the Staples Connect team to determine whether or not it will work with their hub

Interesting stuff here. Serena roller shades are coming (battery powered). Wonder what the max size will be. The wall Pico dimmers are Dimmer PD-6WCL (2-wire). No remote dimmers, only battery powered Pico remotes w/ decora mount. The plug in Pico dimmers are PD-3PCL and have two 2-prong lamp outlets on the side which dim together and pico style controls on the front of the plug in module (though you probably won't want to bend down to the outlet to use them very often). Both are presumably based on CL technology.

Any other integration devices coming for these or are they exclusive to Staples Connect?

While we cannot disclose what might be in coming the future, are there specific integration products you are looking to control?
