Hello, I'm trying to install a new TGCL-153P in a single pole application. This is not my first time using this switch and have had no issues in other locations. However it is the first single pole application. I verified that the light works correctly with a standard single pole switch. I am also using an incandescent bulb to avoid LED issues. When I wire in the dimmer, using the copper and brass on the bottom of the switch (i.e. the copper and the brass on the opposite side of the switch from the copper screw), The switch is non-functional (light will not turn on). If I use the brass screw on the same side as the copper one, then the switch works (light turns on) but in reverse. If I switch the wires the switch still works in reverse. In no configuration does the dimmer work at all. Am I doing something wrong? Did I just get a bad switch? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
